Special attacks: trapping pieces (4)

In the previous lessons, you learned three ways to trap pieces. In this lesson, they are mixed. So you have to figure out for yourself how you can trap a piece.

Do your opponent’s pieces help you out?
Can you trap a pieces with your own pieces?
Or does the board give you a helping hand?

Sometimes, it is possible to use two tricks at the same time. Have a look at the example.

What do you have to do?
Trap an enemy piece. Find a piece that has few squares it can move to and attack it.
The black knight is at the edge of the board.
White’s rook can attack it.
The knight can flee to only one square, because its own pawns are in the way.

But alas for Black! This square is not safe.
White’s bishop is keeping an eye on it.
On this square, the knight can be taken.
White wins a knight! Click on the play button to watch the moves.
